Douglas Genuine Turpentine is a distilled solvent used by artists and professional decorators. Its high solvent strength makes it a good choice for thinning oils and natural resins. Turpentine is the traditional artists’ thinner for oil colours, mediums and varnishes. It improves the flow and dissolves wet oil colours easily and evaporates quickly. While both turpentine and mineral spirits are good brush cleaners, turpentine can remove paint that has hardened slightly on the brush.
